A recent episode of Keep It 100 with Christa and Sean Smith on the Charisma Podcast Network teaches us five benefits of sanctifying our imaginations as well as a timely discussion with prophetic minister and life coach Bob Hazlett.
Sean notes that many miracles are birthed in our imaginations. He says, “the same is also true that in our imagination, many miracles die there. … Imagination is a key factor in our ability to personally experience God.” If our imaginations are not sanctified, not only could miracles be left for dead, but we could miss out on experiencing God in deeper ways.
Christa and Sean highlight five benefits of sanctifying your imagination. The first two are:
1. It gives you a sense of clear direction.
2. You have a clearer sense of who God is.
Ultimately, Christa shares that she has found in her own life that sanctifying your imagination is to “listen to what God is saying. And in order to listen to what God is saying, sometimes you have to turn off distractions.”
From a breakdown of the benefits of sanctifying our imaginations, Christa and Sean dive into a discussion with Bob Hazlett, who first explains that a prophetic word he receives goes through his mind. “It goes through my emotions; it goes through my creative imagination, and so I can’t say stuff without it going processing through my soul,” he says.
Christa observes that this is why it is imperative for those operating in the Spirit to turn off distractions.
When we go through the process of sanctifying our heart, we are introduced to God on a new level. Hazlett says, “when you become aware of something, that becomes available to you. When it becomes available to you, then you have the authority to do something with it.”
