Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. —1 Corinthians 15:58
I receive letters every day from pastors and church workers concerning the rough road they face in the ministry. Many times people look at our church and television ministry and wish they had what I have been privileged to be a part of for so many years.
Let me encourage you with these words: “It has not always been this good.” I remember starting with just seventeen people. I sometimes preached until my throat was so dry I coughed up blood. At one time doctors told me I had to stop preaching, but I knew I was born with “a microphone in one hand and a Bible in the other.”
Wherever you are, draw a line in the spiritual sand and say, “Devil, I’m pressing on, no matter what you say; nothing can stop me and my God.” Be steadfast and immovable, and you will abound in the Lord’s work. Look forward to that day when He says to you, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Don’t quit. Don’t look back. Press on toward the mark in Christ Jesus.
Jesus, keep me focused on You. Give me
the strength and the courage to minister
regardless of the personal cost or
the persecution. Jesus,
I live for You. Amen.
