The kingdom of God is coming in the real world—and the “real world” includes every realm of life. Wherever people live, work and play, that’s where the kingdom is coming.
Understanding the kingdom requires good theology about the kingdom. But the kingdom requires so much more than good theology—it requires action. And putting the kingdom into action requires practical, prophetic strategies.
And with all that’s going on in the world right now—the pandemic, racial unrest and political upheaval—we need kingdom strategies more than ever. We are living through a thousand-year shift, a restructuring of human society that will forever change the course of human history. The evil powers that resist Christ’s rule are panicked. God is moving behind Satan’s back! We must have discernment to see clearly what God is doing.
It is a season of divine disruption. And that includes the church. God is separating the wheat from the chaff. The era of spectator church is over. We are moving from “attractional church” to “transformational church;” from a “Walmart age” to an “Amazon age.” House churches, online church and redefined large group gatherings are taking shape around the world. This generation will see the rise of a restored ekklesia, the church as kingdom training centers, rather than religious theater.
Everything that can be shaken is being shaken. Through times of racial unrest and political upheaval, God is working out His purpose in the earth. Bad eschatology has blinded so many in the past, but a new awareness of the kingdom is dawning. It’s not time for the church to leave; it’s time for the church to show up!
And that’s why we need good kingdom theology, worked out as kingdom strategies, manifest as wisdom, power and love in our metron—our area of influence. We need to know what the kingdom is, how it comes and what to expect when it comes. The kingdom brings transformation to people, families, churches and society. Changed people change the world!
