Many have fallen into the trap of believing that our God in heaven is much more like an angry old man ready to smite us than a loving Father who sent His Son to die for us. Host Dubb Alexander is joined by Texas based prophet Ryan Pena on this episode of The Prophetic Company on the Charisma Podcast Network to talk about how their early perceptions of God influenced their ability to tell others about Him.
Pena realized that early on he had come to believe in an “angry God.” Through revelation, the Lord corrected Pena’s misguided view. Pena says God told him, “‘I am the author and finisher of your faith. And He said, ‘there have been pages authored in your heart that I didn’t write.’ … He says, ‘There are some things in your heart I’m going to have to rewrite … and there’s some pages I’m going to to completely tear out.'”
This word on Pena’s heart sparked a revival in him, one that allowed him to grow as a prophetic voice and learn how to disciple others. He says, “It started with the revelation of who He is, that led to the revelation of who we are. … Here’s what it comes down to: Who is God? Who are you? What have you been given? And what are you supposed to do with it?”
Alexander shares a similar testimony in which God asked him, “Dubb, would you allow Me to reintroduce Myself to you?” Alexander told God, “‘Well, yes.’ You know, because what are you gonna say, right? And then [God said to him],’Because, you think that Jesus had to save you from Me.’ And I was like, ‘I do kind of think that.'”
