Do you long for the Lord to break your heart for what breaks His? Is your heart aching for the injustice and unrest in our world right now?
The Father is calling us to Him in these times and invites us to rest in His presence so we may be agents for change in our world. This episode of Salvation Today on the Charisma Podcast Network concludes a special three-part interview between host Chris Mikkelson and worship pastor John Wilds. The two discuss what the current unrest in our world means for the body of believers and how we can take action.
The first thing John Wilds says we must say is: “Lord, I want to look at You, because I want to see Your heart toward humanity.”
When he had done that, Wilds says he “began to look at people differently and heartbroken a different way.” His prayer then became, “Lord, OK, then how can You use me? … Because only when we see what He sees are we able to really fulfill what He’s called us to fulfill.”
One of the most powerful things the Lord has called us to do in this time is to just commune with Him. Wilds says he learned to just rest in His presence and worship Him in that time. He says he learned that “there’s no sweeter song than the one He’s put inside of you.”
He goes on to say, “And we don’t worship a statue or just some theological idea. … And so it changes everything when you acknowledge the fact that He’s actually here.”
These are the first steps Wilds says we must take in order to be an agent of change in our world. To hear the rest, listen to the full podcast here. {eoa}
