How You Can Find Godly Purpose in Your Platform

What is a platform? A platform is a position of influence. No matter how big or small that influence may be and no matter how important in the eyes of yourself or the world that position of influence may be, it is a platform nonetheless.

We all have a platform in some way or another, whether on social media, a leadership position at work or simply being an older sibling. With any platform comes responsibility, but it also comes with great purpose.

So what are we supposed to do when we come into a position where we are given a platform? We are to use it for a purpose greater than ourselves and our own lives. We must use it to do good, even if that means pushing our comfort zone and boundaries.

Just as Esther was when Mordecai called upon her to save the Jewish people, we are given platforms for a purpose, one that goes beyond what the world sees as the norm and what we would regard as comfortable.

So what can we learn from Esther? Esther was humble and listened to the Lord. Even after she came into the position as queen of Persia, a position with the most influence a woman could have in her time, she remained obedient, humble and selfless. She has a position with great influence, and yet she remained unchanged in character. In short, she did not let her “new life” go to her head.

From Esther, we can learn that when it comes to using our platform, we must remain humble, obedient to the Lord and selfless in our decisions. These things give a platform purpose. These things—which Esther exemplified—also give way to stepping into your destiny and walking with the Lord.

But how can we apply what happened to Esther to our lives? You may be thinking, “I don’t have a platform; I am not in a position with influence; I am not capable of having a platform”. However, the Lord says you are capable, and you do have a purpose in your platform! Just because you may not have a high position in your job, large social media following or you’re not one to normally lead a team does not mean you do not have a position that has influence. You are a follower of God; therefore, that is your platform above all other platforms you may or may not have.

So how will you use your platform? Will you choose to be passive, or will you choose to take a leap of faith as Esther did and step into your destiny?
