Now more than ever it is crucial to understand that as a Christian, you have been set apart from the world by God. In one of my recent episodes of Awaken the Wonder on the Charisma Podcast Network, I discuss why the Lord has cleansed you. Jesus is coming back for a bride without spot or wrinkle.
Ephesians 5:26-27, says, “that He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, and that He might present to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
We have to be in the Word of God to look at what He is saying. The Bible is good news—present tense. The Word is alive and breathing and sharper than any two-edged sword. We need the blood of Jesus to cover us.
When you come into communion and take the body and blood, ask Him to purify your heart. Why does He wash you? To present the church to Himself. He wants to fall madly in love with us as a radiant church, holy and blameless. This is a season to get pure before the Lord.
In Matthew 13 and Luke 8, we see the parable of the sower—the farmer who came to sow seed. Some seeds fell on the pathway, and they were trampled. The seeds sown in thorny ground were choked out because they were in bad soil.
In your life, you can be choked from the Word of God because of the friends or people you have allowed in your life.
There was also the rocky soil, so the seeds couldn’t grow up, and some of us have put so much baggage and junk over the seeds of our life they can’t grow.
Luke 8 explains that the seed is the Word of God. The words that the Lord has spoken over your life are your weapons.
I was ministering in Minnesota, and I checked my phone. My wife had texted me that the air conditioning in the car went out. We live in Florida where it is hot and humid almost year-round. The church gave an offering for the ministry and gave me a $500 dollar honorarium. We were living check-to-check at the time, so my wife and I prayed that the bill would be $500 dollars or less. The next day we took the car to the mechanic, and when they finished, they said it was just over $500 dollars. My wife asked how much the bill was; she wanted to know why it was more than the amount we had paid. Although the bill was just slightly over, she knew God wanted to answer our prayer, and something was wrong. I looked back at the receipt, and it said $506.66, it was $6.66 over the $500 dollars. We immediately recognized it as an attack from the enemy.
That morning I had a vision and saw a large dark cloud coming at us. I didn’t know what to do, but I heard a voice say, “Use what you have.” I looked down at my toolbelt, and there wasn’t anything there. I heard the voice again, and there were two little pouches of seeds when I looked a second time. He repeated what He said: “Use what you have.”
I grabbed the seeds and the craziest thing happened. They turned into little flying arrows and went into the dark cloud, piercing through it. The seeds were burying into the ground, going deep into the earth with roots growing out. Vegetation grew out from the ground into the darkness, pushing the cloud so far back that I couldn’t see it anymore. These little seeds were the only thing I had, but they were my weapons.
When God asked Moses at the burning bush what he had, and Moses only had his staff, God used it. In this same way, our seeds are weapons. This has changed my entire life. After having the vision, we decided to sow the entire $500 dollar check into the gospel of Jesus Christ. We emptied out our account to pay the rest of the car bill. We made that decision that day to sow against the enemy’s camp.
