And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. —Psalm 1:2-3
God established His covenant in the earth, but if you are not established in His covenant, it will never do you any good. Our hearts must be established in His Word, which bonds us to the mind of Christ.
The psalmist gives us a perfect description of those whose hearts are established: Men who fear the Lord and delight in His commandments are blessed with abundance that cannot be taken away. You will reap the fruit in whatever your heart is established and rooted—fear or faith; sickness or health; poverty or prosperity; sin or righteousness. As Joshua prepared for battle, God said if he would meditate in His Word, he would prosper and be successful (Joshua 1:8).
Spend time in the Word. Hide it in your heart. Through the Word, God will chart the course for His abundance to be released into your life. Deposit these two verses in your heart:
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11).
Thy word, O Lord, I hide in my heart.
Root and establish me in Thy Word that I might prosper
and bear good fruit for Thy kingdom. Amen.
