“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” (John 14:1, NKJV).
God knows that anxiety, fear and doubt create troubled hearts. When you focus on the negative, listen too much to complaints, gossip and doomsday talk, it brings you down. When Jesus encourages the disciples with those words recorded in the book of John, the disciples are experiencing a lot of uncertainty. Trouble is brewing in the culture. Religious leaders falsely accuse Jesus for selfish gain, and there is great unrest and division between religious and political groups. Sound familiar? With all of the opposition the twelve are facing, their faith begins to dwindle. I’m sure you can relate.
Even though things seem unstable, you can count on God. Do not allow the enemy to rob you of your peace and your joy. Do not let this world snuff out your faith and your confidence in the Lord Jesus Christ. True faith stands on godly facts. He loves you and has authority over what comes against you, no matter how great it may seem.
“Don’t let your heart be troubled…”
Today, I want you to know the devil is not over you. He is not on top of you. He is under you. If you are walking in Christ Jesus, then all those things are under your feet. You have the blessed assurance that He “put all things under His feet” and gives Christ to be “head over all things” (Eph. 1:22). God gave the authority and the power to the church to pray with power and authority. That means you.
The Lord is calling you to be brave. He’s looking for men and women who will stand upon His promises. God knows that you are capable of the mighty and miraculous. You can do this. It is in you to fulfill your heavenly call because God put it in you. The moment you came to the saving power of Jesus Christ, God gave you the Holy Spirit—a Helper.
You have the blessed assurance of a glorious future. Regardless of what you face right now, I want you to know God has a purpose for you. God is fulfilling His promises in your life—and THROUGH your life.
You are a living demonstration of the outcome of confidence in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. Shut out the world’s negativity and conflict. You have blessed assurance when you open your heart to your heavenly call. {eoa}
