As I walked into the room, I knew the Lord had opened the door for me to sit at the table of leadership. I surveyed the expansive room where the tables were draped with white linens, and the chairs were the big comfy ones that the important people get to sit in. Tears began to fill my eyes, and I fought back allowing them to run down my cheeks. Lord, how did You get me here? Lord, are You sure you have the right person? I wondered.
This last question about being the right person invited other voices into my thoughts. The beautiful moment turned into internal conflict. I’m not good enough to be here. I just know I’m going to say something stupid. I hope the person in charge doesn’t call on me. If these thoughts weren’t enough, then the pride that was rising within battled for attention: I deserve to be here. It’s about time a woman gets the attention. I hope someone notices me and invites me to come preach. It’s time to prove God has really called me, and they will all see.
Does this scenario remind you of the war in your own mind at times? All too often, instead of pulling these thoughts down and stopping them immediately, we entertain them until our emotions become all riled up. We need to cease coming into agreement with the enemy and other negative voices and begin to and remain standing on who the Bible says we are. If we want to do all that God has created, called and anointed us to accomplish, it’s time we said, “Enough! I’m coming into agreement with God and His Word. I am the daughter or son of the Most High God. I am a joint heir with Christ. I am who He says I am!”
Recognize and defeat unhealthy agreements with the enemy and other negative voices. It’s time to rise in freedom. God needs you tuned into Him for the revival that’s coming.
