Psalms Features 3 Types of Songs—So Why Does Today’s Church Only Perform 2?

Mike Donehey, lead singer of Christian band Tenth Avenue North, says there are three types of songs in Psalms: praise, thanksgiving and lament. Yet today’s church and Christian music industry almost exclusively perform songs of praise and thanksgiving, without making room for lament. Donehey talks about the importance of biblical lament and explains how his band is trying to revive this lost art form.
