Note: this is part 3 of a three-part series. Listen to part 2 here.
With chaos abounding in our nation and around the world and with fear running rampant, it can be easy to recognize the negative parts of our lives. It might even feel as though God’s plan has gone awry. In this space, we must learn how to pray through the storms. This episode of Move Forward With Kim Maas on the Charisma Podcast Network will encourage us to do just that.
Pastor and missionary Dr. Jeannette Storms acknowledges a common attitude in times of unrest. She says, “A lot of us spend so much time being unhappy with where we are, instead of discerning, ‘Why did God put me here?'”
Instead, she says our mandate should be to seek out the ways in which God can use us in the storms. Especially as election season gets underway, we must learn to see things from God’s perspective.
Storms says, “Our God is love and in His goodness and in His kindness and in His justice, He will allow us to see some of the things that have been wrong so that we can pray into them, we can act into them, we can begin to heal those wounds.
“So when we look at our nation, and we see some of the things that we know are not quite right … we want to look at America as a nation that God raised up.”
She urges us to ask, “What is it that He raised us up for? What was the original purpose and intent? What was the spiritual root of goodness and kindness and redemption that God planted here?”
When we shift our perspective and look at our circumstances through the lens of the Holy Spirit, we can find the redemptive hope that God is bringing to this time in our history.
