He will bring down your high fortified walls and lay them low; he will bring them down to the ground, to the very dust. —Isaiah 25:12
How does the enemy construct a spiritual stronghold in our lives? First, he starts with a foundation of lies and half-truths. Usually these are lies about the personality of God or about how God views us. Next, up go thick spiritual walls, brick by brick. They are built by inaccurate ideas about God and distorted perceptions of how God sees and feels about us, especially in our spiritual immaturity and when we sin. Held together by the mortar of mistaken reasoning, the walls rise higher and higher. Soon, lofty spiritual towers of vain imaginations loom inside us.
{ PRAYER STARTER }
Father, I refuse to be held back from becoming more like You because of any spiritual strongholds Satan has erected in my life. Destroy all the walls of stubborn pride and vain imaginations in my life, and let me grow more and more into Your image.
Satan erects every stronghold he can to keep us
from the true knowledge of God.
