I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. … They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they will not stumble. —Jeremiah 31:3, 9
The Father-heart of God was as thrilled with me—an immature, mess-making, spiritual infant—as with one of His spiritually mature sons who had just graduated with honors from the school of the Spirit. My heavenly Father enjoyed me while I was yet in the process of maturing, not sighing in disgust and waiting impatiently until I grew up. He loved and longed for me; He felt proud and was excited over me even while I was falling short.

Father, like Mike Bickle, I am an immature, mess-making, spiritual infant. Yet You love me so much that You enjoy me just as I am. It’s so hard for me to comprehend that You could feel that way, Father, but my heart is overwhelmed with love because of it.
As my confidence in Him grew, my heart
became warm and tender toward God.
