The Bible says that while large crowds followed Jesus, he often withdrew to lonely places to pray in solitude.
Christian author and pastor Jamie Buckingham says, “Two things seemed to be important to Jesus—solitude and prayer. Prayer is you talking to God and God talking to you. It’s not a posture we take and it is not a formula. It does not depend upon whether you are a Christian, a Jew or a heathen. Prayer is two-way conversation with God.”
