“There are people that walk through pain or suffering and they’re wondering where is God in this?” Mullins said. “If we’re honest, all of us have gone through times where we’ve asked those questions.”
Drawing from his new book, “Don’t Let Doubt Take You Out,” Mullins shared how doubt—whether in oneself, in others, or even in God—can lead to breakthrough if handled the right way.
“We begin to have self-doubt, like I don’t know if I can do this,” he said. “We can begin to doubt God—God, where are You in this situation? Why aren’t You answering my prayers the way I’m asking them? Then you begin to doubt others around you.”
Instead of running from God, Mullins asks that Christians choose to run toward Him.
“When you look in the Bible, you see that some of the greatest leaders that we look up to battled with some of the deepest doubts,” he said. “We think doubt is a disqualifier. But when you look at Scripture, it’s actually a doorway that if you take that to God, God actually uses it to bring you into deeper faith.”
He pointed to biblical examples like David, Job, and John the Baptist, who all questioned God in moments of crisis. “John, who said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,’ is now sitting in prison asking, ‘Are You really the one?’”
Mullins’ message to believers is clear: “You can bring your pain, your sorrow, your struggle. He’s not afraid of our questions. He’s not afraid of our emotions. He actually invites us in.”
In a world that often equates faith with certainty, Todd Mullins brings a refreshing and freeing reminder: doubt does not disqualify you—it can deepen you. When brought to God, questions become conversations, and struggles become stepping stones.
His message is clear: believers don’t have to hide their doubts or pretend they have it all together. Instead, they can bring every fear, every question, every moment of weakness to the God who welcomes them with open arms.
God isn’t waiting for perfect faith—He’s drawing near to the honest heart. And in that place of raw trust, He does His deepest, most transformational work.
