Clay Peck, lead pastor of Grace Place, recently issued a public apology in his sermon to the LGBT community. He denounced Christians who have spread hate and haven’t shown love to LGBT people who come to church. Peck says, “Please forgive me and everyone I represent who has hurt you in the name of religion, no matter how well meaning they may have been. It is not the way of Jesus and I deeply apologize and am sorry.” Yet Peck didn’t change his theology, instead mapping out a biblical third way between bigotry and celebration. Watch his message here.
