Pastor Bianca Olthoff says she has a popular saying to help teach the Bible’s instructions on staying pure before marriage: “No ringy, no dingy.” Olthoff says there’s a serious problem even within the church, not to mention among church leaders, with committing to purity.
“The conversation in culture, and even within church culture, is that it’s acceptable—like, well, they’re older, they’ve been waiting,” Olthoff says. “People in leadership, paid staff—they’re rationalizing it, and there’s this level of acceptance. … So I feel like I’ve got to come out swinging on this, because we are allowing people to be in sin.”
