On the Road to Success, Remember Whose Glory You’re Supposed to Be Seeking

In Isaiah 6, we read about King Uzziah, one of the most prosperous people to walk the planet.

When Uzziah started to climb the corporate ladder, he thought he built his kingdom when God had blessed him.

In the beginning, he was humble, but before he knew it, he, like many in the world, got lost on the path to success.

We read of Isaiah’s account, “In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord” (Isa. 6:1a). This encounter prompts the following response which essentially states: “Woe to me! I am ruined; I am unclean” (see Isa. 6:5).

Instead of thinking highly of himself and reacting with pride, Isaiah began to humble himself the more the Lord blessed him. Do you want to see the Lord? God wants to speak to you and talk to you.

What preceded Isaiah seeing the Lord? The sin of pride died, and Isaiah saw the Lord. The Word says God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.
