New Research Suggests Jesus Shroud No Forgery

Does the Shroud of Turin actually date back to the time of Jesus’ death? New research suggests yes.

Many believe the shroud was the cloth used to bury Jesus after his crucifixion. Other people claim it’s just a medieval forgery.

But new tests from Italy’s University of Padua dates the shroud to somewhere between 300 B.C. and 400 A.D., in the era of Jesus’ life and death. The new research is likely to reignite the debate over the authenticity of the shroud.

Meanwhile, the Vatican is expected to display images of the cloth on Saturday.

“The display of the shroud on a day as special as Holy Saturday means that it represents a very important testimony to the Passion and the resurrection of the Lord,” Cesare Nosiglia, the Archbishop of Turin, told the Telegraph.
