The apostle John put it simply and profoundly, “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19).
A heart won in the tenderness of Christ is won in the tightest grip imaginable and will not give way in the darkest hour. Love is forged under the rushing currents of His relentless mercy and gentleness.
Jesus is not impressed with power, fame or money. He rarely looks for the smartest, trendiest, richest, most talented or most gifted when He looks for leadership.
The church is enamored with giftedness, but love will outshine giftedness every time. Love will outgive the richest, and love will produce a wisdom that will confound the wisdom of this age. {eoa}
