The house was filled with a cloud . . . So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of God. —2 Chronicles 5:13–14
I want you to see how they came. One hundred twenty of them with different instruments, yet all making the same sound. The Levites were arrayed in white linen, emblematic of purity. “It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord . . . ” (2 Chron. 5:13).
Then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord. The priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord had filled the “house of God.” The priests could not stand, and the entire place was filled with the glory of God.
All this demonstration of the glory of God was brought about by the one hundred twenty priests who blew the trumpets and instruments that mingled with the voice of the great company of singers. The whole object was to glorify God with one sound.
God wants perfect harmony. No one criticizing, no one finding fault, but all sounding forth His praise in purity. If we go out to meet God clothed in white, washed in the blood of the Lamb; if we all go out making the same sound; if we go out to glorify God; God will honor all the noise.
Lord, how I want Your glory to fill this temple of my
body so that Your glory may be revealed
to those around me. Amen.
