In 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NIV), Paul proclaimed the following, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.”
Paul’s invitation to follow him was bold, and it revealed a lifestyle based on an amazing level of commitment that was fueled by divine intimacy with Jesus. Paul was overwhelmed by the love of Jesus and, as a result, he followed Him to the end of his earthly life, even unto his natural death.
As Christians, the call upon us according to Matthew 28:19b is to, “make disciples of all nations.” This mandate from the Lord compels us to live in such a way that our lives impact others and leads them into a life characterized with deep commitment unto Jesus and an undying love for him.
We find ourselves amid a church age where many people have never experienced God and his glory. The sad truth is that many people have never walked with someone who paid the price in prayer and even fasting to know Jesus in deep, intimate way. As a result, we might see conversions at times, but discipleship is lacking on many fronts.
The ability and willingness to bequeath a living legacy of knowing Jesus is of paramount importance in this hour of uncertainty and darkness. Someone must be willing to pay the price for others to encounter a true disciple who makes disciples of Jesus Christ.
Join me this week on Maintain the Flame on Charisma Podcast Network as I share about the important calling upon our lives to make disciples. As I focus on the subject of Generational Glory, prepare to be stirred and prompted to become activated in the needed role of disciple-making. {eoa}
