Have you ever been told that you have a calling on your life or that you were destined for greatness? Have you felt an underlying fear of failure? See, so many of us are held back by our inability to overcome fear. Unfortunately, many people are trapped by what these fears tell us and make us feel. Maybe it’s not the obvious fear: fear of flying, speaking in front of people or even heights. It may be beyond the fear of failure, as in you just don’t feel safe, or you struggle with a lack of confidence.
Well, I have great news for you—you don’t have to be bound by fear. In fact, you can be free from it today.
Billy Graham once said, “Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and His will for us.”
The Bible actually tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with gratitude, make your requests known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will protect your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
When you become anxious about something, you’re most likely thinking about your trials, your problems, your mountains and even the valleys you’re trying to get through or out.
There have been plenty of times in my own life where I have been overcome by fear. How God would bring healing to my marriage? How could God heal my child, whose doctor said would be born with a brain defect that would leave him bound to a wheelchair, never walking, never talking on his own and never eating like a normal child?
How do you take your eyes and ears off of what the world has told you to muster up enough faith to trust in a God able to heal and strengthen you for the road ahead?
I’m here to tell you: God will not abandon you. Just two weeks after receiving the news, we found out the Lord had healed our child.
Maybe the miracle looks different for you. Maybe it’s not a complete healing of your situation, but it is the miracle of grace that carries you through and equips you for the journey.
Today, there are women walking in their calling and impacting the kingdom for Jesus. One of those is Rebeca Arguez. From the outside, it appears that this strong and vibrant young woman has had no struggles. Together with her husband, they pastor a thriving church. She has ministered to hundreds and hundreds of women, but she also has struggled with fear herself.
The same way Rebeca was delivered from fear, you can be too.
Because Jesus is strong, we are too.
