Each believer has a personal history in God that has been developed through the years. It may be lengthy or it may be thin, but the Lord wants to give each of us as individuals a substantial private history so we can write our own faith book, so to speak. David’s history in God was constantly growing. Each time he stepped out of fear and into the strength and boldness of God, a new page was added to his personal faith book. How do we gain history in God? By getting out of the boat as Peter did to walk on the water. You won’t get a fat book of personal history with Him unless you leave the safe zone. When the dark night comes and we face the great troubles prophesied in Luke 21, we will draw upon our private history in God. Why should our hearts faint for fear like the unbelievers? We will overcome fear through a personal history in His faithfulness. We should agree with David’s testimony and say, “I will not be afraid because I remember that God has continually been my salvation and deliverer.”

Like David, my history in You, God, is constantly growing. When I look back upon my life, I see Your miraculous interventions and blessing. I have the confidence to step boldly into my future with You, trusting You to continue to be my constant salvation and deliverer.
When we are in difficulty, God wants
us to press in and seek Him
for a breakthrough.
