Empowered21 hosted a history-making event this past weekend, as about 2,000 Brazilian pastors and ministry leaders gathered in unprecedented unity for the first ever Empowered21 conference event in São Paulo, Brazil.
Leaders of key ministries across Sao Paulo, as well as a remarkable number of leaders from other cities in Brazil, all traveled to Renascer Arena for the event hosted by Empowered21, a relational network serving the Spirit-empowered movement and empowering the next generation worldwide. Empowered21 resources the community of 680 million Spirit-empowered Christians around the globe.
“These leaders are seeking God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in this nation,” said Billy Wilson, global co-chair of Empowered21 and president of Oral Roberts University. “This is a crucial time for the country of Brazil as they head into their national elections in October, and Christians are believing for a spiritual shift to take place in this nation.”
The event helped leaders gather together and pray against some of the corruption and violence that has overrun many areas of the society, as well as to seek God for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit to be demonstrated not just among the laypeople of the nation but also among the pastors and leaders there.
“There was a powerful move of God towards brokenness and unity among the key leaders,” said Caleb Wehrli, assistant director of Empowered21. “In fact, several of the pastors told me they haven’t had a unifying service like this among the pastors and leaders in 25 to 30 years.”
The event was also broadcast live on Christian television across the nation and streaming via the web, with a potential audience in the millions.
