Members of the Dove Award-nominated band Revive want fans to realize how short and precious life really is, as described on the title track of their CD, Blink.
The song is appealing but also hard-hitting, bringing to reality the fact that so many squander the short time they have in this world when “the only thing that matters is love.”
Listeners may find themselves not only singing, but also weighing the words of the chorus: “It happens in a blink, it happens in a flash / It happens in the time you take to look back / I try to hold on tight, but there’s no one stopping time / What is it I’ve done with my life?”
Blink isn’t the only catchy pop-rock tune on the sophomore album, which is produced by the talented Jason Ingram and Rusty Varenkamp. Other songs, including Something Glorious and the opening track, Almost Missed This Moment, keep with the theme of finding purpose in life that will last.
Founded in Australia, Revive has been influenced by other Christian artists, including Switchfoot, Jeff Buckley, Steven Curtis Chapman and Third Day.
