Every difficulty we experience is an opportunity to learn of God’s mercy. It is a chance for us to discover all over again that God is good; that He is good “all the time.”
The Lord is tender toward us when we struggle, and we will find throughout life that when in earnest we call upon the name of the Lord, He has bountiful mercies upon which we can drawÂmore than we could ever imagine.
READ: Lam. 3:19-25; 31-33 Ps.117:1-2; Ps. 106:40-46; Mark 10:46-52; Eph. 2:4-10; 2 Cor. 1:3-7.
HEART ISSUE: The misery of a sinful world can be alleviated only by an understanding of the kindness of God. Romans 2:4 reads: “God’s kindness leads you toward repentance” (NIV).
Without fear, give to God any struggle, any disobedience. Now receive His mercy and love.
PRAYER FOCUS: Father, we can’t begin to thank You for Your mercy. It is, however, something we don’t completely understand. So we wait far longer than we should before we humble ourselves and run to You. Help us to remember that Your compassion will never fail us and that You are constantly extending Your kindness and forgiveness toward us. Remind us that You sympathize with our pain and heal our brokenness. Amen.
