He’s got the whole world in His hands. How many times have you sang this song?
You may have sung it during your childhood years in Sunday Bible school. If you fast forward to today, you will find this song to be a source of comfort when you remember the simplicity and the strength of those lyrics when dealing with the issues you are facing.
If your problems are in your hands, that simply means that they aren’t in His hands. That is because you haven’t placed your problems there.
Whatever you may be facing, His hands can hold it. He’s got the whole world in His hands. His hands are bigger than yours and He doesn’t need your help. He is the Creator of the universe and His tool box of help is overflowing with peace, joy, healing, restoration, forgiveness, love and anything else you need if only you will ask Him in faith.
“He’s got the wind and the rain in His hands.” He’s got every hair on your head and every grain of sand counted. He blows the wind and shines the sun. He waters the earth and waves the sea. There is nothing He cannot handle for you, if you will just place it all in His hands.
“He’s got the little, tiny baby, in His hands.” This means, He had you from even before you were formed in your mother’s womb. He has been with you from then until now and will be with you for all eternity. All you have to do is place your life with all of your cares in His hands.
“He’s got you and me brother, in His hands. He’s got you and me sister, in His hands”. This means He has got us in His hands all day long, all night long and all of the time. When two or more of us are gathered in His name to pray, He is in our midst.
God is there during that special time between our Amen and our “There it is!” The space and time when your faith is tested and strengthened simultaneously. When you say “Amen” you are placing your needs into the very hands of God in faith. 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) “Casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”
Once your problems leave your hands, your spirit becomes lighter for it knows Him who holds your future in His hands. The more you make it a practice to turn your present trials over to God, the more you can live life more abundantly knowing that He will work it all out for your ultimate good.
If you think back on past trials where you gave it to God placing it in His hands, you will see that He indeed worked it out for your good.
What may have begun as a childhood Sunday School song many years ago can minister to you in your darkest times in the valley. The song is simple but has stayed in your memory since childhood. In Matthew 18:1-3, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven”.
It is time for child-like faith and confidence in the promises of Christ and faith, even while in the valley of hardship or affliction, even when you cannot see, always remembering that “He’s got everybody here in His hands,” right now on the earth and as it is in heaven.
