A spiritual pioneer in the artistic community, Matt Tommey strives to honor God in this speaking opportunities, sculptures and books. But God first had to bring Tommey out of a horrible place of brokenness into full restoration—and that all started with a powerful prophetic encounter.
“I turned down a job as a worship pastor to a big church and a business that I had to close, and I was kind of like ‘God, what am I going to do now?'” Tommey tells Shawn Bolz on the “Exploring the Prophetic” podcast. “And He told me, ‘Matt, go home and lay on the floor and just worship Me. And your provision is going to come like popcorn.'”
Even though that prophetic word made no sense to Tommey, he obeyed. He started cultivating a single focus of worshipping Jesus. Then two nights in a row, God woke Tommey up with a powerful encounter.
