Is there a deeper prophetic significance behind a resurfaced peace portrait of President Trump from 1983?
In recent days, a Manhattan Inc. magazine cover from 1983 has circulated social media because of its profound significance: a portrait of Donald Trump holding a dove symbolizing peace. During his second term, Trump has not only declared himself to be the president of peace, but he has attempted to bring nations together who have been at war with one another, most notably between Israel and Gaza. Could these very acts of prophetic significance have been foretold of decades ago?

In a 2016 article by Time Magazine, William Coupon, the photographer who took the photo said, “I shot Donald Trump twice. This is my favorite. Trump was offering his services as a ‘peace negotiator’ between the Israelis and the Palestinians.”
This statement has plenty of prophetic implications. While Coupon was speaking of taking photography shots, the notion of “two shots” being taken at Trump has an even greater meaning to it today knowing that there were two assassination attempts on his life. Trump also is the one who actually served as the mediator between Israel and Gaza to end the war between the two.
In the article, Coupon also noted that “… ultimately, it was that something in his eyes” that made the photo stand out.
Another 2016 article by The Guardian, Coupon is quoted for having also taken Trump’s photo for the Jewish Defense League in 1992 as he held a baby tree in it. The article notes that at that time Trump, “maintained his pro-Israel ties.”
Could it be that what was once viewed as a simple magazine cover now carries prophetic weight in light of current events? The imagery of Trump holding a dove—an ancient symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit—seems to foreshadow his modern role as a peacemaker among nations long at war.
Decades later, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gifted Trump a golden dove of peace, taking this prophecy even further.

Scripture tells us, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God,” (Matt. 5:9). The symbol of the dove is found in the Bible starting all the way back at the beginning in Genesis, showing that the Holy Spirit was also there. Perhaps the Holy Spirit is trying to use Trump as one of these peacemakers.
Whether one sees Trump as a political figure or as an instrument in God’s timeline, the symbolism of that dove in his hands invites reflection: peace is not just a policy, but a prophecy.
