A buzz continues to travel around the charismatic and prophetic world about an Assemblies of God pastor who says he had several dreams related to the coronavirus, the 2020 election, financial collapse and more. Scripture teaches us that God can certainly speak through dreams. But how much stock should believers place in the dreams of this pastor?
Prophet Rebecca Greenwood addresses the topic of dreams and their interpretation on a recent episode of the Victorious Prophetic Warfare podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network. She shares her own practice when God gives her a dream. “When I receive dreams, especially If they’re involving a national or if it’s very international in focus, I will spend a lot of time in prayer and intercession, seeking the Lord, seeking what His Word says, really saying, ‘Lord, show me the interpretation of this dream.’
“I have people around me that I trust that are very gifted in dream interpretation, not that we can’t interpret our own dreams, but there are certain dreams when I have them or certain visions … so that can be extremely detailed,” Greenwood says. “And so many times I will send those to those that I trust, ask them to pray into it: ‘What are you hearing? What are you feeling or sensing?’
“Those who are very gifted in the prophetic who have been voices in my life, many times I will send [the prophetic words or visions to] them and say … ‘What do you think about this?'” Greenwood says. “‘Does this bear witness with you? Do you have words of wisdom for me? Is this for intercessory purposes, only for a select group of prayer warriors? Is this this revelation that needs to be shared with the entire body of Christ to prepare the body of Christ and to mobilize the body of Christ for intercession?'”
