As believers who walk by the Spirit, we understand the importance of prophetic prayer in this hour. We are in a season that feels uncertain. What is the state of the nations? What is the state of the Church? How do we pray for God’s will?
Hear this: God has given us certainties and principles of prayer. We can be sure that when we obey and pray His Word, seek Him with all of our hearts and love others, we have a legal right to harken His angels to minister on our behalf.
The Certainties in God’s Word:
—“God is not a man, that He should lie” (Num. 23:19a, NKJV).
—”Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Tim. 2:1-2).
—”And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace” (Jer. 29:7).
—”if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chron. 7:14).
—”Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces'” (Ps. 122:6-7).
Praying God’s Word anoints us with the power and authority to move nations, heal lands, release prosperity and peace and further God’s kingdom on earth.
If we want to move nations in this hour, we need to understand some Hebraic biblical principles.
The Biblical Principle of Prophetically Speaking God’s Word
First, we are in the Hebrew year 5781 and the decade of the ’80s. The number 80, represented by the Hebrew letter Pey ( פ ), symbolizes the mouth. The prophetic meaning of this decade is all about speaking God’s kingdom and truth.
This means when we proclaim, decree and declare with our mouths, we are releasing critical seeds that are sown into the physical and spiritual realms. We reap what we sow. Therefore, we need to transform and wash our minds with the Word of God and speak in agreement with the Spirit.
The Biblical Principle of Unified Prophetic Prayer
God gave me a word for the year 5781: “Speak to the rock of your salvation” (see Ps. 89:26). We have a window of opportunity to speak life-words from God’s Word into the nations, the Church, others, families and ourselves.
The months of October and November lead to a pivotal point for our nation. We see chaos around us, but we can find peace in the storm by speaking and praying God’s Word!
We stand and pray in agreement with the certainties above.
Find Scriptures that proclaim God’s Word over our leaders, nation and Israel.
Find Scriptures of promise in God’s Word. Go through the following questions and ask the Spirit to reveal His heart on the matter:
—What is the Holy Spirit pressing upon your heart regarding our nation and leaders?
—What is He telling you to pray for? Peace and healing in the land? Empowerment and authority for the Church?
—What does the Word tell you about Israel? What promises does God give His nation?
Find Scriptures that reflect His truth for the above questions and write them down.
Turn those Scriptures into decrees and commit to praying them daily.
After you write down the Scriptures, write them out as decrees. Remind God of His promises according to His Word.
Thank God for His sovereign character, His faithfulness to His Word and the answered prayers.
Start praising God for what He has already declared as a promise. These promises are written in the heavenly books and are already set into motion. Praise Him for His almighty hand at work in this world.
When you want to heal your land, cities, families and communities, you must also pray for healing in the land of Israel and the prosperity of her people.
Why?
God has clearly set aside the nation of Israel for a reason. He called them out to be people who reflect His character, and—by divine design—He used them to bless the nations through Christ. Romans 11:12-15 tells us this:
“Now if their [Israel] fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?”
As believers in Yeshua, we are grafted into Israel, partaking of the same inheritance. So then, we must contend in prayer:
—If we want to walk in the fullness of our salvation and activate our inheritance.
—If we want healing.
—If we want prosperity in every area of our lives.
Let us pray for Israel’s destiny, that she takes her position in God’s family and we see her as the apple of God’s eye (Zech. 2:8).
Let us agree that, as Jew and Gentile, we come together as the “One New Man” that Yeshua intended (Eph. 2:15). This type of bond creates a 3-stranded cord—Jew and Gentile united by the Spirit of Christ—that releases the Lord’s will on earth.
