Are you overwhelmed by the dreaded news cycle and seemingly endless trials in our world today? Take a minute, sit down and reflect on the word’s God spoke to you at the beginning of the year. How has His faithfulness come to pass in your life?

We took a trip back to the beginning of the year to see what your favorite prophetic voices prophesied in Charisma News, and how God has shown Himself faithful.

On Jan. 3 Mario Murillo issued a prophetic warning to the body of Christ for 2022.

He advised Christians to stay alert and not be fooled by what was to come. Murillo’s prophetic warning said, “The deception that I see hitting American pastors is their yearning for the good old days. What these preachers do not want to face is that there is no going back. Once again, they are dusting off the therapeutic sermons and the smiley face talking points that fooled them at the end of 2019.”

This year has made it clear that churchgoers are fed up with fluffy sermons that don’t address the crippling issues we face in our world today. The time for feel-good, seeker-sensitive messages is out the door and the pastors following the Holy Spirit have sunk their teeth into the word of God to deliver tangible words of wisdom and faith to their congregation.

People are lost and broken. A study just released by Liverpool Hope University showed there is “a significant disconnect between the perceptions of church leaders and parents about what is needed going forward,” survey authors said.

It’s clear Murillo’s word is coming to pass, yet God is separating the hot from the cold. Be encouraged, as you seek for manna from heaven you are continually being transformed into the image of Christ. James 1:25 says, “But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deeds.”

On Jan. 8 Rabbi Jonathan Cahn said, “More than ever, you have a prophetic calling.”

Cahn galvanized Christians to not just pray for revival, but to commit to revival. “If the darkness is threatening to stamp out the light, the worst thing you can do is be silent or intimidated. If America has forgotten God, we must all the more remember Him. If America has abandoned the ways of God, we must be the ones who will all the more uphold them,” he prophesied.

Since then we have seen numerous churches commit to revival and seeking the glory of God. New Life Church in Corpus Christi, Texas is one of those shining lights. The congregation embarked on a journey of consecration and repentance which led to its Gen Z group getting baptized in a radical move of God.

The North Georgia revival has finished it’s fifth year with over 30,000 people immersed in baptismal waters. Pastor Todd Smith credits the move of God to the church giving themselves to God in prayer. Smith himself joins Cahn in his belief that the pulpits need to be revived. Church leaders need to continue to raise the standard and call God’s people to purity and holiness, instead of being swayed by the culture.

Meanwhile, we have seen countless churches open the pulpit to drag queens and LBGTQ agendas. God is separating the wheat from the chaff and Cahn’s prophetic word rang true throughout the year.

Kenneth Copeland prophesied God showing up in unexpected places in 2022.

“There are those who will live in a state of fear for most of the year,” Copeland says. “But those that know me, sayeth the Lord, will understand. They will know and they will understand in the Spirit as the year goes by, and they will say, ‘Whichever way it swings, I’m going to be all right.’ There will be those who will rise up and say, ‘I just don’t believe it. I can’t believe it,’ and doubt will rise up and overtake you like a thief in the night, and you will suffer and know not what to do,” he says.

With the rise in inflation, wars and the ever-growing division in the country just this year, it’s crucial for the body of Christ to heed to these words. No matter what happens in the natural world, Christians rest their hope in eternal life with Jesus Christ.
