Christian author and speaker Lance Wallnau says 2026 will not be a passive or neutral year for believers. In a recent broadcast, Wallnau described the coming year as one marked by sharp division, deeper unity and consequential choices that will shape both spiritual direction and physical well-being for years to come.
“This is going to be a wild year,” Wallnau said near the close of the program. “The decisions you make are going to have lasting impact for the next decade.”
A Year of Division and Unprecedented Unity
Wallnau opened his message by describing 2026 as paradoxical — a season where division and unity exist at the same time.
“For the next year, I just got a download,” he said. “The year of division. Uh-oh. But the year of unity also.”
According to Wallnau, believers should expect new relationships and alliances to form, sometimes unexpectedly.
“You’re going to be united with people at a higher level than ever before,” he said. “Don’t be surprised if some people you didn’t know before become your best buddies.”
The “Year of the Body,” Spiritually and Physically
One of Wallnau’s most repeated themes was that 2026 will be “the year of the body,” referring both to the body of Christ and individual physical health.
“It’s the year of the body, the year of the physical body and the year of the spiritual body,” he said. “The decisions you make this year regarding your body are going to affect the next five years to 10 years.”
Wallnau urged viewers to take health seriously, warning that neglect now could limit future effectiveness.
“God says, ‘Take care of yourself,’ because He’s got plans for you,” he said.

Sifting, Discernment and Shifting Alignments
Wallnau said 2026 will be a year of separation and clarity, particularly in what believers listen to and who they align with.
“You’re going to be sifting this year what you’re hearing,” he said. “Because if you listen wrong, you’re going to be led wrong.”
That sifting, he added, will naturally lead to changing alliances.
“This is the year of shifting alignments of the body of Christ,” Wallnau said. “The people you go to war with, the people you’re in covenant with, the people you resource — that’s going to be your tribe.”
Judging Rightly, Not Passively
A significant portion of the broadcast focused on discernment and biblical judgment, which Wallnau said many Christians misunderstand.
“Stop saying, ‘Who am I to judge?’” he said. “Jesus actually says, ‘Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?’”
Wallnau stressed that Scripture does not forbid discernment but instead condemns hypocritical or fault-finding judgment.
“This is talking about how you judge, not if you judge,” he said. “Judge with righteous judgment.”
Restoration, Not Condemnation
Wallnau emphasized that biblical judgment should aim to restore people, not destroy them.
“The purpose of judgment is to restore, not destroy,” he said, citing Galatians 6:1. “You who are spiritual should restore him gently.”
He criticized what he described as fear-driven avoidance within the church.
“If you don’t actually develop a backbone, you’re going to lose territory,” Wallnau said.
An Intergenerational Hand-Off
Wallnau closed by pointing to what he sees as a coming convergence between generations.
“The older are going to have the zeal of their youth back on them,” he said. “And the young people are going to start aging into maturity rapidly.”
He described it as a baton-passing moment.
“Two generations running together,” Wallnau said, “and then the old handing off all they can to accelerate the next generation.”
As he signed off, Wallnau framed 2026 as a year that will reward intentionality and punish passivity.
“It’s the year of decisions,” he said. “It’s the year of discerning. And it’s the year of unprecedented unity.”
