Throughout history, there have been defining moments when God has stepped into human events, leaving no doubt about His sovereignty. Today, many believers are asking whether we are approaching another defining prophetic moment—one that could shake nations and awaken Israel and the world.

In a powerful message, Jonathan Cahn examines one of the most discussed prophetic passages in Ezekiel 38 and 39. These chapters describe a massive coalition of nations rising against Israel in what appears to be an overwhelming invasion. Yet instead of Israel being destroyed, God Himself intervenes in dramatic, unmistakable ways.

Cahn highlights Ezekiel 38:16, “I will bring you against my land so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you, Gog.”

However, one of the powerful and sobering elements that Cahn highlights is the shifting role of nations. Cahn states, “For end-time prophecy to come to fulfillment, America has to fall from its present place as head of nations.”

Ezekiel 39 also looks at the nations from the perspective of God’s holiness.

As Cahn reads, “I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people, Israel… and the nations will know I am the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.”

He further says: “This event is going to be a wake-up call to the world and to Israel.” He then describes it as potentially the first modern moment comparable to the greatest miracles of Scripture: “This is like a Red Sea event. This is like a stopping of the sun event… in the modern world.”

Another major prophetic moment Cahn discusses centers around timing. Could this conflict occur before the seven-year tribulation period described in Daniel? Could it overlap with it? Or could it help launch it?

Daniel 9 tells us that a coming world leader will confirm a covenant for seven years, but then break it halfway through. “It’s written in Daniel 9… he will make a covenant with them for one week or seven years. In the middle of the week… he’ll break the covenant.”

If Ezekiel’s prophecy teaches us anything, it is this: God is not reacting to history—He is writing it. And in the end, the world will see that the God of Israel is not a relic of the past, but the sovereign King over all nations, all history and all eternity.
