As Christians step into 2026, many are sensing an undeniable urgency from heaven. This is not a year to hesitate, spectate or sit idle. It is, as prophetic voice Jenny Weaver declared, “the year to pick up those assignments and go forward with them—put our hand to the plow and not look back.”

But with divine assignment comes intensified opposition.

During a recent message, Weaver revealed that the Lord impressed upon her a sobering phrase in prayer: “Assignment killers.” She explained that while God is releasing clarity and momentum to His people, the enemy is simultaneously deploying strategies designed to stop them from finishing what God has started.

“When people begin to pick up the assignment, all of hell begins to bombard them with full force to make them drop it,” she said. “Sometimes the resistance isn’t because you’re in rebellion—it’s because you’re right on target.”

Three Stages of the Enemy’s Strategy

Weaver anchored her message in John 10:10, where Jesus outlines the enemy’s approach: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”

According to Weaver, this verse is not merely encouragement—it is a battle plan.

“The enemy doesn’t start by destroying your assignment,” she explained. “First, he steals the desire for it.”

She pointed to the Greek word klepto, meaning a secret, deceptive theft—often unnoticed until passion, joy and prayer life have quietly drained away. “People wake up one day and realize everything is gone,” she said. “Their fire is out.”

If that tactic succeeds, the enemy escalates to the second stage: kill, an intentional wounding meant to end the assignment altogether. Weaver noted that betrayal often accompanies this phase. “It’s not strangers that wound you the deepest—it’s the ones closest to you,” she said.

The final stage, she warned, is destroy—to ruin something beyond repair and convince believers that God’s call on their life is permanently lost. “He wants you to believe it’s too late, you’re too old or you’ve gone too far,” Weaver said. “That’s a lie from the pit of hell.”

Joseph, Lazarus and You

Weaver illustrated these stages through biblical examples, including Joseph, whose coat—symbolizing identity, favor and authority—was stripped away before he was sold into slavery. “While they thought the dream was dead, God was developing him,” she said.

Likewise, she pointed to Lazarus, whose sickness, death and burial appeared to signal the end—until Jesus arrived. “God never approved that obituary,” Weaver declared. “Your assignment isn’t dead—it’s in development.”

A Call to Discernment and Intimacy With God

Throughout the message, Weaver emphasized the need for discernment in 2026. “Not everything you’re going through is witchcraft. Resistance is a part of the process,” she said. “My sheep know My voice. You have to know God for yourself.”

She urged believers to stop relying solely on pastors or prophets and instead cultivate a deep, personal relationship with the Lord. “When you know God that well, you recognize His pressure, and you don’t run from it—you yield to it.”

Weaver’s charge to the body of Christ was unmistakable: the assignment is still alive. No betrayal, delay or resistance can cancel what God has called.

“You didn’t call me. You didn’t seal me. You can’t cancel me,” Weaver proclaimed. “I’m living for an audience of One—and His name is Jesus.”

For believers stepping into 2026, the word is clear: stand firm, discern wisely and don’t let the assignment killers win.
