America is facing a profound cultural, political and spiritual crisis. Rev. Franklin Graham believes the only answer is national repentance and unified prayer.
Speaking in a recent interview with CBN News, Graham revealed that the idea for a national call to prayer began when California pastor Jack Hibbs urgently reached out to him. “Franklin, I think we ought to do something,” Hibbs wrote to him in the middle of the night. Graham agreed, explaining, “Our nation has fallen so far from God and His truth.”
Graham described a culture spiraling into confusion, pointing to the Supreme Court arguments over biological sex and sports. “They asked one of the people arguing for men to be in women’s private space, ‘give us a definition of a woman,’ he couldn’t do it,” Graham said. “Why are they even listening to this? They can’t even define what a woman is.”
Beyond America’s internal chaos, Graham sees global instability rising at an alarming pace: “Iran right now is burning… Venezuela, Cuba, Russia, Ukraine, Gaza… it seems like the world is about to implode.”
For Graham, the answer is not political first — it is spiritual. “We need to repent as a nation. And we need to repent of our own personal sins and ask God to forgive us.”
We Must Intercede for Our Leaders
Importantly, Graham is calling believers to pray for national leadership, whether they voted for them or not.
“We need to pray for those that are in leadership — President Donald J. Trump,” he said, adding leaders such as JD Vance, Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, and Kristi Noem to that list. “People may say, ‘Well, Franklin, I didn’t vote for the guy.’ Well, it doesn’t matter. He’s our president.”
Graham emphasized their decisions now carry consequences far beyond politics, arguing they are under immense pressure as they make “critical decisions” that will affect the nation’s future.
Are We Seeing Prophetic Signs?
When asked about biblical prophecy, Graham didn’t hesitate: “Most people who read the Bible and study Scripture feel that we’re in those last days.” While acknowledging no one knows the timing, he believes Scripture commands believers to pay attention: “Christ could return at any minute… we need to be ready.”

Referencing Jesus’ parable of the 10 virgins, Graham warned against complacency: “They knew the bridegroom was coming, but they just weren’t ready… We need to make sure our house is in order.”
Revival or Decline? Both Are Happening
Graham acknowledged the recent spike in youth conversions and spiritual hunger but warned against assuming it means the nation is turning around. “Nowhere in the Scripture does it talk about at the end times there’s going to be some great revival,” he noted. “I see things are going to go from bad to worse.”
Yet God is still moving. Graham pointed to the late Charlie Kirk as an example of a young leader who boldly embraced Christ near the end of his life, impacting millions through his death and testimony. “God’s at work… His Jesus Christ is on the way. He’s returning. So let’s be ready.”
The Power of Prayer
For Graham, prayer is not symbolic — it is warfare. “Prayer is our opportunity to go directly into the presence of Almighty God,” he said, pointing to Ephesians 6. Using Jesus’ own model for prayer, he urged believers to align with God’s will rather than their own political preferences: “Not our will… but His will.”
If millions would pray, Graham believes God would intervene in this moment of global shaking: “God hears prayer… let’s not be guilty of not praying.”
