In countries where Christianity is illegal and Bibles are banned, God is still reaching hearts in miraculous ways—even through dreams.
That’s exactly what happened in southwest Iran, where an entire Muslim family had the same supernatural encounter with Jesus on the same night, forever changing the trajectory of their lives.
The testimony, which was recently shared online by Kap Chatfield, recounts the story of a 17-year-old Iranian boy who became disillusioned with Islamic ritualism and began questioning why he had to pray in Arabic to a God who supposedly understood all languages.

“I said, ‘God, if You are alive, show Yourself to me,’” he recalled.
Seven days after he prayed that bold prayer, something incredible happened.
“I had a dream of Jesus Christ,” he said. “But not only me—my mother and sister had the same dream on the same night.”
In the dream, Jesus approached their mother, calling her “Mary,” and handed her two white papers, instructing her to pass them to her children. She did, and when she turned back to Jesus, the dream ended. The entire family awoke shaken and in tears, not yet knowing what it meant—but knowing it was real.
They had no prior knowledge of Christianity. In Iran, Bibles are forbidden and difficult to find. But just five hours after the dream, a friend knocked on their door carrying a Persian Bible. He had known the family for five years, but never once shared his faith—until that morning, when he heard the voice of Jesus tell him, “Take My word to Amin’s house. They are ready.”

As the friend placed the Bible on the table and began to share the gospel, the mother interrupted him. “Why didn’t you tell us before?” she asked. “We all had the same dream of Jesus last night.”
Shocked, the friend broke down and wept. The timing, the dreams the message—none of it could be explained away. This same friend heard Jesus speak to him early that morning and tell him it was time for them to hear about the gospel.
This isn’t an isolated story. Reports of Muslims encountering Jesus in dreams are emerging from across the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Often, the dream is so vivid and spiritually charged that it leads individuals—and sometimes entire families—to seek out Christians, bibles or underground churches.
But is it biblical?
Scripture affirms that God can and does speak through dreams. In Matthew 1:20, Joseph was visited by “an angel of the Lord” in a dream. In 1 Kings 3:5, Solomon encountered God at night, where He told him, “Ask what shall I give you?” In Daniel 2:1, King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream disturbed him so deeply that he called upon Daniel to interpret what he instinctively knew was a divine message.

Dreams in the Bible weren’t just symbols—they were often real encounters with God or His messengers.
As Chatfield put it, “Dreams are more than just your subconscious. I believe it’s like a portal into the spirit realm.” And in places where Scripture is not accessible, it seems that Jesus Himself is showing up.
This testimony is not only a call to wonder at God’s supernatural reach—it’s also a wake-up call for believers in free nations.
In the U.S., Bibles are readily available—yet many sit untouched on shelves, gathering dust. Meanwhile, in nations like Iran, people are risking everything just to hear the name of Jesus.
“Lord, give us a hunger for Your Word,” Chatfield prayed. “Help us realize what a privilege it is to open the Bible without fear.”
The message is clear: If Jesus is appearing in dreams where His name is banned, how much more should we be proclaiming Him where He is freely known?
