As the Jewish calendar approaches Rosh Hashanah 5786, beginning Sept. 22, 2025, prophetic voice Amanda Grace is sounding the alarm about the times we are entering.
As she points out, the Hebrew calendar, biblical patterns and unfolding world events all point toward a sobering reality: the enemy is attempting to hook the church, the nation and even global leadership into deception as preparation for what lies ahead in 2026 and beyond.

The Year of the Hook (5786)
Grace notes that the Hebrew year 5786 corresponds to the sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, Vav, which means “hook” or “tent peg.” In Scripture, Vav often connects heaven and earth, symbolizing attachment and joining. Yet just as a hook can connect, it can also ensnare.
“Vav means hook, and a hook is designed to latch on,” Grace declared. “When a fish is hooked, it doesn’t go willingly. It is dragged where it doesn’t want to go.” In this season, the enemy seeks to drag both individuals and nations toward compromise.
This ties directly to the sixth day of creation, when God made man. Because of this, the number six represents mankind. But Satan seeks to corrupt this by twisting it into 666—the number of the Antichrist. The “hook” becomes a picture of how the Antichrist spirit lures the world, attaching leaders and systems to darkness.
Brokenness and Peace
Interestingly, in the Torah the Hebrew word shalom (peace) is written with a broken Vav. This points to Messiah, whose body was broken to bring reconciliation. “The peace of God came because Messiah was broken,” Grace explained. “But the enemy wants to break man in such a way that there’s no coming back—hooked, trapped and destroyed.”
The Enemy’s Bait
Hooks only work when bait is placed on them. In this year, seducing spirits are baiting God’s people with shiny lures—false ideologies, shallow distractions and offenses.
“There is a cooperation of spirits—Amalek, Ishtar, Baal—working to weaken the church,” Grace warned. By dividing God’s people and dulling spiritual discernment, the firewall of protection is lowered, leaving both church and nation vulnerable to infiltration.
Just as Israel opened a spiritual door before the Oct. 7, 2023 attacks by holding its largest pride parade, so too can America invite judgment if it violates God’s covenant or turns against Israel.
A Prophetic Timeline
Grace further gave a breakdown of a timeline of what we can expect to see happen in the coming years regarding the Hebrew calendar.
- 5785 (2024–2025): “Grace on both sides, sword in the middle”—a year of battle bracketed by mercy.
- 5786 (2025–2026): The year of the hook, marked by seduction and deception.
- 5787 (2026–2027): Beginning on Sept. 11, 2026, this Rosh Hashanah becomes a prophetic 9/11 wake-up call.
- 5788 (2028–2029): A Shemitah year, ushering in another shaking as America faces a pivotal election.

Grace’s word is clear: “The turning of a nation is not up to politicians. It’s up to God’s people.” As 2 Chronicles 7:14 reminds us, if believers humble themselves, pray, seek His face and turn from their wicked ways, then the Lord will hear, forgive and heal the land.
