When most Americans think of Greenland, they picture an icy, remote rock at the top of the world—far removed from the battles of politics, geopolitics, or prophecy. But political commentator Glenn Beck says we may be missing the point entirely. According to him, Greenland is becoming the quiet centerpiece of a much bigger story, and President Donald Trump knows exactly what he’s doing.

The discussion, surprisingly, begins not with ice or politics, but with the power of the spoken word.

“He never says we are a failing empire,” Beck said. “This week… I feel like we are on the verge of being a renewed nation with a hundred-year story… as amazing as the last hundred years.” One of the key elements Trump keeps verbalizing into reality, Beck says, is Greenland. “We need Greenland. Greenland should be a protectorate.”

But why Greenland? For Beck, the answer is straightforward and unsettling: “It is strategically placed in such a place that it is essential for us if you are preparing for war.” The Arctic is the emerging global battleground—militarily, economically and technologically. Greenland’s massive reserves of rare earth minerals are critical for batteries, energy systems, weapons platforms and AI technology. “If we bought it like we did Alaska… It’s a very good deal for the United States,” he added.

Beck believes Trump is preparing for multiple forms of conflict: “He is preparing us for a couple of things—a digital war… a currency war… and I think a hot war.” He points to Trump’s pressure on the military industrial complex, his energy dominance agenda, and new alliances with nations like Argentina and Venezuela.

In a separate report by the New York Post, a map shows distances from Nuuk, Greenland, to other nations whose resources and presence could affect the United States. While Copenhagen, Denmark, which currently claims the land, is 4,000 miles from Greenland, Washington is half that distance at 2,000 miles.

Yet this isn’t about empire building. “I don’t think he is carving out an empire,” Beck insisted. “I think he is carving out the western world” for survival against a rising axis of China, Russia, Iran and North Korea—what Beck referred to as “CRINK.”

For Beck, the Greenland question carries a warning: history teaches that when empires wobble, conflicts ignite. And right now, “for the first time in human history, every nation is collapsing for the same reasons at the same time.”

Whether prophetic or geopolitical, his conclusion is chillingly clear: Greenland isn’t a joke. It’s preparation.

And preparation implies something is coming.
