Nicolás Maduro’s son has shifted his allegiances, vowing to provide “unconditional support” for the new leadership of Venezuela.
According to Fox News, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, the former Venezuelan leader’s son, is promising to stand by the country’s new power in place.
“My unconditional support for the very hard task you’ve been given,” he said, according to the Canadian Broadcasting Operation. He further stated, “Count on me, count on my family, count on our firmness in taking the right steps at the forefront of this responsibility that is now yours.”
This was the first statement that Maduro Guerra had made since his father was brought to New York on narco-drug trafficking charges. Since these events, Delcy Rodríguez, who served as the vice president under Maduro, has been sworn in as the new head of Venezuela.
As Maduro pleaded not guilty, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now reportedly looking into bringing justice against him. Border Report noted that DeSantis claimed that the Florida attorney general is currently “looking very seriously” at potential charges.
“We’d end up with some of these people in Florida…Tren de Aragua gang members that were in prison there. He did that, and to me, that is a very hostile act,” DeSantis stated.
