Carlson had earlier accused the president of being “complicit in an act of war” and stated in his newsletter that it could have been “…the final Newsletter Before All-Out War.” Carlson had Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on his podcast where a debate ensued over how the U.S. should respond to Iran and Israel.

This led to Trump responding on Truth Social, writing, “Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that, ‘IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!'”

While answering reporters’ questions in the Oval Office, Trump mentioned Carlson’s apology call.

“No, my supporters are for me. My supporters are for America First and Make America Great Again,” the president said. “My supporters don’t want to see Iran have a nuclear weapon. Tucker’s a nice guy. He called and apologized the other day because he thought he said things that were a little bit too strong.”

Trump further addressed Ted Cruz, stating that he is a “nice guy” who has “been with me for a long time.” He also said that “nobody thinks it’s okay” for Iran to possess nuclear weapons.

Though he has made it clear he does not want America to enter into a conflict with Iran, Trump said “…if it’s a choice between fighting and them having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do. And maybe we won’t have to fight. Don’t forget, we haven’t been fighting. We add a certain amount of genius to everything, but we haven’t been fighting.”

As tensions escalate in the Middle East and debates over foreign policy grow more intense, Carlson’s apology marks a notable moment during debates on how America should respond. As believers, we are called to pray for wisdom for our leaders, for protection over our nation and its allies and for peace that only God can bring. The spiritual reality remains the same: we must stand firm in faith, discern the times and continue to seek God’s will above all.
