Today marks the one-year anniversary of President Donald Trump’s term in office. During that time, he has dramatically altered the actions established by the previous administration. One of the areas he has championed over the past year is religious liberty for Christians.
Here are the top five things President Trump has done for the Christian community during the first year of his second term.
1. He created the Faith Office to recognize the importance of Christianity in America.
As Charisma reported last year, Trump created the Faith Office and appointed Paula White-Cain as its leader, making it clear that Christianity would not be forgotten under his administration.
“He said, ‘This house is your house. You have an open door to this house. I welcome people of faith here,” Malachi O’Brien recalled from a conversation with President Trump and the group.
2. Trump brought peace to help Christians living in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Thanks to Trump’s help with creating a peace agreement between the DRC and Rwanda, Christians had hope again in that region. As Ambassador Antoine Gonda and Pastor Travis Johnson shared with Charisma Media, the peace brought hope to the nation.
“…When Pastor Travis came, we saw the Christian community of America standing with us, praying for us. That gave us hope,” Gonda said.
3. The president also defended the Christians of undergoing severe persecution in Nigeria.
Trump has repeatedly spoken about the growing number of deaths of Christians in Nigeria, making it a “country of particular concern.”

“I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter and report back to me. The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!” the president wrote on Truth Social.
4. The Trump administration has also been an advocate for the Jewish people.
In a world that has so abandoned Judaism and turned its back on the Jewish people, the Trump administration has been working hard to combat antisemitism, including its freezing of federal funds to Harvard due to their extreme antisemitic stances on campus.
5. He pardoned 23 pro-life activists at the start of his term.
After peaceful pro-life protesters found their freedom of speech under duress by the Biden administration. In one of his first acts for faith and freedom, Trump pardoned these pro-life advocates.
For many believers, this was not merely a legal decision—it was a moral one. The move sent a clear message that those who stand for the unborn should not be treated as criminals. Pro-life leaders across the nation praised the pardon as a symbolic victory for the sanctity of life, affirming once again that religious conviction need not be silenced by political pressure or cultural intimidation.
As we look back on the first year of President Trump’s second term, it is undeniable that the spiritual landscape of America has shifted. From defending persecuted believers abroad to restoring dignity to voices fighting for the unborn, the administration has proven willing to challenge the darkness of our age. Yet for Christians, these victories are not merely political accomplishments—they are signposts.
They serve as reminders that God is still moving in the halls of power, still raising up leaders who will contend for His people and still calling the church to be salt and light in a nation at a crossroads. The question before us now is simple: will we seize this moment, or will we shrink back?
