President Donald Trump continues to make himself known as the president of peace.
In a ceremony at the White House, Trump received the Architect of Peace Award from the Richard Nixon Foundation. In a video posted by the White House to social media, Trump can be seen accepting the high honor.

According to the Nixon Foundation’s website, the award was established in 1995, shortly after Nixon died in 1994. The foundation states that this award is given to “individuals who embody [Nixon’s] lifelong goal of shaping a more peaceful world.” The foundation also quotes Nixon from his first inaugural address, where he said, “The greatest honor history can bestow is the title of peacemaker.”

Some of the past recipients of this peace award include Newt Gingrich, Henry Kissinger, John McCain, Michael Pompeo and George W. Bush.
As the Washington Times reported, chairman of the board of directors Robert C. O’Brien said that as a recipient of this award, Trump will “join a pantheon of peacemakers who put into practice the principles that defined President Nixon’s own vision for a more peaceful world.” The president was determined to gain this prize due to his efforts in facilitating the Abraham Accords, resolving conflicts with Serbia and Kosovo, and brokering multiple ceasefire agreements worldwide.

Trump has been widely hailed for acting as a mediator between Israel and Gaza, and has recently received the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor and Egypt’s Order of the Nile Peace Award. He is also set to receive the Israel Allies Lifetime Achievement Award in December as calls for him to win next year’s Nobel Peace Prize continue to grow.
