Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into a “sharia city” development in Kaufman County, Texas.
According to reports, a U.S. subsidiary of a Dubai-based company called SEE Holding, in connection with Kaufman Solar LLC, has purchased land near Kaufman, Texas, with the intention of constructing a “sustainable city.” Texans have expressed concern that the development may become a “sharia city,” Paxton’s office explained. His office has requested information from SEE Holding and Kaufman Solar LLC regarding their relationship and communications with local, state, county, and school officials.
“There will be no ‘sharia city’ in Texas under my watch,” Paxton said in a statement. “While you’re on American soil, you will obey America’s laws. I have launched this investigation to determine the nature of this development in Kaufman County and will be thoroughly investigating this matter for any unlawful actions.”

The investigation is the latest action Paxton’s office has taken against Islamic development in Texas. Last week, Paxton filed a lawsuit against the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in an effort to shut down their operations in the state.
According to the lawsuit, the Muslim Brotherhood “remains active in Texas through CAIR. The organization is quietly building an underground network across the State with a singular objective: establish Sharia law, punish infidels, and overtake Texan institutions of power.”

“Through this lawsuit, the State of Texas seeks immediate injunctive relief prohibiting the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR from engaging in any further activity within the State,” it adds. “The evidence that follows demonstrates that CAIR is not what it claims to be. It is, and has always been, the American face of an international terrorist organization.”
