Today Show host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings released a heartbreaking video message pleading for the safe return of their missing mother, Nancy, who is 84 years old and reportedly in fragile health. The video, shared on social media, marked the first time the family has spoken publicly since her disappearance and possible kidnapping.
Speaking directly to the public, Savannah Guthrie opened with gratitude for the outpouring of support, saying, “On behalf of our family, we want to thank all of you for the prayers for our beloved mom Nancy. We feel them, and we continue to believe that she feels them too.”
Throughout the message, the siblings painted a vivid picture of the woman they are fighting to bring home — not just as a missing person, but as the spiritual and emotional anchor of their family.

“Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,” Guthrie shared. “She is funny, spunky and clever… She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge.”
The weight of the moment was impossible to hide. At times, emotion overtook Savannah Guthrie’s voice as the siblings spoke directly to their mother, revealing the depth of their bond. The family also made clear the seriousness of Nancy’s medical condition, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
“She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile… She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer,” Guthrie stated.
Addressing reports circulating in the media about a possible ransom letter, Guthrie struck a careful balance between hope and caution, acknowledging the reality of a digital age where deception is possible.
“We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk,” she said. “However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her.”
One of the most powerful moments came as Guthrie spoke directly to her mother.
“Mommy, if you are hearing this… You are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you…We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together again… We pray without ceasing, and we rejoice in advance for the day that we hold you in our arms again.”
Continue to lift up the Guthrie family in prayer and for the safe return of Nancy Guthrie.
