Famous film director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were tragically killed in a homicide. Now, their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested as a murder suspect in the case of his parents.
In a report by Fox News, images from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) show Nick Reiner in handcuffs and detained by a police officer. He will appear in court on Tuesday morning.
The LAPD stated how Rob and Michele were discovered, saying: “On Dec. 14, 2025, around 3:40 p.m., Los Angeles Police Department officers assigned to West Los Angeles Division responded to a call of a death investigation…officers discovered two victims, who were subsequently identified as Robert and Michele Reiner…The investigation further revealed that Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of Robert and Michele Reiner, was responsible for their deaths.”
Fox noted that friends of the Reiners stated that Rob and Nick argued with one another during a Christmas party at Conan O’Brien’s the night before Rob and Michele were killed.
According to People, Rob and Nick co-wrote the film “Being Charlie,” which focused on a teenager battling addiction, something that Nick Reiner reportedly battled with for years, landing him in rehab on 18 different occasions.
Rob and Michele Reiner died from stab wounds. As of right now, Nick Reiner is being held without bail.
