One “prophetess” is looking at many years behind bars.
In a report from Fox News, it was noted that Kathleen Klein, who also went by “Prophetess,” is the third person to be indicted by a Michigan federal grand jury for allegations of conspiracy and forced labor with the Kingdom of God Global Church.
Klein reportedly served as an executive and leader of the church formerly known as Joshua Media Ministries International. Klein, along with Michelle Brannon and David Taylor, was part of the team that ran call centers in Texas, Missouri, Florida and Michigan.
As Fox reported, those in call centers had to work long hours without pay to meet intense fundraising goals. Those who did meet these goals faced “public humiliation, sleep deprivation, physical abuse, withholding of food and shelter, forced repentance rituals and threats of ‘divine judgment in the form of sickness, accidents, death, and eternal damnation,'” according to Fox.

The Department of Justice made a statement on the case, with FBI Detroit Field Office Special Agent in Charge Jennifer Runyan stating, “Forced labor is a direct assault on human freedom…It strips victims of their dignity, their autonomy, and their basic right to control their own lives. Anyone who conspires to exploit and enslave others for profit will be held fully accountable under the law.”
It is believed that during this decade-long charade, the Kingdom of God Global Church received $50 million in donations, which leaders spent on vehicles, travel, luxury items and real estate.
As this case moves forward, it serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of accountability and integrity in all parts of life.
