Secretary Pete Hegseth called in hundreds of generals and admirals to Quantico to unveil a new era of military standards and guidelines.
As CBS News shared, Hegseth discussed the change of the department’s name to the Department of War, and spoke of “toxic leaders” that led to wokeism in the Defense Department. Hegseth also spoke about how this will be the end of “dudes in dresses.”

NBC quoted Hegseth, stating that if the officers do not like this new take on the military, then they should resign.
“If the words I’m speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign.”
For Hegseth, this is the end of what “foolish and reckless political leaders” had established prior to the current administration. He also vowed that fitness would be top priority, speaking about “fat troops” and how, “it’s completely unacceptable to see fat generals and admirals in the halls of the Pentagon and leading commands around the world. It’s a bad look.”
Tightened grooming standards will also be implemented as well.
“No more beards, long hair, superficial individual expression…we’re going to cut our hair, shave our beards and adhere to standards,” said Hegseth. “We don’t have a military full of Nordic pagans, but unfortunately, we have leaders who either refused…[to] enforce standards or leaders who felt like they were not allowed to enforce standards.”
Ultimately, he made it clear that if these basic criteria cannot be met, “…it’s time for a new position or a new profession.”
As NBC further explained, Hegseth notes there will be “no more walking on eggshells…We are liberating commanders and NCOs. We are liberating you.”
This applies to the fact that there will be “No more frivolous complaints, no more anonymous complaints, no more repeat complaints…” He also noted that segregation, discrimination and sexual harassment are immoral and against the law, and those who do these acts will have consequences that are “ruthlessly enforced.”
Hegseth further gave a prayerful reminder to the generals to pray for the safety and the wisdom of their soldiers. “Go forth and do good things. Hard things. President Trump has your back, and so do I.”
Coming to center-stage, the president discussed how the administration is planning to invest $1 trillion in the military next year.
As CBS quoted, Trump said the military is, “…bringing back a focus on fitness, ability, character and strength, and that’s because the purpose of the American military is not to protect anyone’s feelings. It’s to protect our republic.”

“Together, we’re re-awakening the warrior spirit,” Trump said.
As the military seeks to restore discipline, courage and honor, Christians are called to pray that America’s leaders and soldiers alike will not only uphold righteous standards outwardly, but also walk in integrity before the Lord. Ultimately, the greatest victory comes when a nation turns its heart back to God, for only then can its warriors be truly equipped to defend truth and freedom.
